- CASII: The Child and Adolescent Service Intensity Instrument (CASII) is a standardized assessment tool that deterimines the appropriate level of care service intensity needed to treat a child or adolescent and their family with psychiatric, substance use, medical or developmental concerns. Psychiatric Residential Treatment Centers require a CASII score in the Level VI range. This indicates the need for a locked facility requiring 24/7 monitoring. The assigned DWH clinician will complete the CASII form after the parent interview and the patient assessment are complete.
- Less restrictive approaches to mental health care were attempted and were unsuccessful at stabilizing behavioral health condition(s). Such services may include medication management via psychiatrist, individual and/or family therapy, in-house support services, partial hospitalization program, or intensive outpatient programming.
- At the point that the adolescent is no longer in need of acute care treatment but still requires a locked facility with 24/7 monitoring as symptoms and behaviors cannot treated in a less restrictive setting.

Once a patient is admitted, our team works to communicate with referring doctors at every step and provide the resources and information necessary for ongoing success after patients have graduated from the program.
